Christmas Wishlist 2013

So it's that time of the year again, we are getting closer and closer to Christmas and the end of 2013 and just like every friggin month of this year, time flew by too quickly.
This month I have been incredibly bad at blogging but this time I do have a real excuse, being that my laptop broke, and it proves to be quite difficult blogging when you don't have something to write on.
I will try to squeeze in at least a few more posts, outfits included until the end of the year. but for now a look at my annual wishlist.

I will be honest, on top of my list right now, for obvious reasons is a new laptop. And this year I will be lucky enough to receive a Macbook Pro from my parents for christmas. It's a very hefty price for what it is but I am going to write my bachelor thesis next year and really do need a good computer for this purpose.
The other items are bits and bobs I will definitely purchase myself this time around, nothing spectacular since there is something else, something bigger that I have made into my christmas/birthday present this year.

 From last years wishlist I was lucky enough to receive numbers 2,3 and 6 as christmas and birthday presents. As for the remaining items, I treated myself to a new wallet (Prada, not Miu Miu), the Real Techniques Brush, some Yankee Candles and the Lauren Conrad book.
Can you guess which wish will finally come true at the beginning of next year? (One tip, it is nothing material..). I think it's gratifying to mentally tick off things on your wishlist one by one as the year progresses, there is a meaning behind "work hard play hard" after all right :)

Honestly this year was a blessing to me in terms of material dreams that I treated myself to through hard work. But the most important wish, not every year but every day is health and happiness for my loved ones and myself. Materialistic things might make you happy for the moment but nothing beats being healthy, happy and having the people you care about around!
On this note, only one more week til Santa comes!

Need those in my life right now:

- Houndstooth pattern: I have been looking around practically everywhere for ages for a nice black and white houndstooth patterned sweater/cardigan and have yet to find the perfect one. I am on a clothing shopping ban, but this is the one item that I NEED in my closet.   
 -  Yves Saint Laurent: My strategy is, since I won't be spending unneccessary amounts of money on clothing I might as well invest in good quality make up. I was always the drugstore type of girl, and really I had a good reason to, these high end brands are frickin' expensive! But I think if it comes to sensitive areas like your skin, it can't hurt to go for quality once in a while. On my list are the Le Teint Touche Éclat foundation as well as one of their beautiful lipsticks. I will spoil myself, but it definitely won't be both at the same time, or else I might get reasonable again. 
 - Nike Free running shoes: One of my new year's resolution is to work out. I am such a lazy bum and my stamina has gone down the drain. I figured by buying suitable sportswear my motivation level might take a heap as much as my bank account will take a fall.

And lastly the probably cheapest but prettiest bit out of the bunch. Fresh tulips. They are hands down one of my favorite flowers and they just instantly lift my mood into spring and sun and freshness. I got a beautiful bouquet from my bf for valentine's day and I will fill the apartment with even more, once they've grown even more beautiful. 

That being said, I don't think I will ever escape this cycle of consumerism.Sigh.

Birthday Wishlist

Today in a week is my belated 22nd birthday and apart from the woes of growing one year older and taking one step towards the dreaded 3+, midlife crisis-ensuing number, there are lots of things to be excited about. Number one for me definitely is to get to spend my special day with the people I love and adore, my lovely friends and family. This year, I am most excited to get together during yummy dinner and drinks and to just catch up with my friends and share some good laughs over delicious food. 

Of course, like every year, there are a few bits and pieces I compile in my birthday wishlist and similar to my christmas wishlist, I threw them all in a nice collage here.
 1 Ipad Mini 16GB  : This baby will actually be a birthday present from me to myself. It's so much more convenient than my old, dusty laptop and much bigger and better than my crappy, semi-broken Ipod Touch.
2 Ipad Mini case: That is kind of a given, my new baby will need a comfy and stylish cover, preferably in a bright and funky color/pattern.
3 WMNS Nike Dunk High Skinny: I need some sturdy work and running around shoes and these are just so funky and fresh, who can resist? Coincidentally, I heard through the grapevine that I'll receive those beauties from my loverboy. The grapevine meaning I went along to the store when he bought them.
4 Miu Miu purse: Been coveting that wallet (in multiple colors) for so long and never had the heart to spend 300€ on it. I might spoil myself with the aid of birthday money, but I might as well settle for a cheaper, yet equally pretty alternative.
5 Urban Decay's Naked Palette: also a long wanted item. It just combines (almost) every eyeshadow color you might need in everyday life.
6 Ikea/any furniture store gift card: I'm in serious need of a new desk and desk chair, since both have long past their best days and I need some new jazz in my room. Once my semester break starts, I'll be seriously furniture shopping.
7 House of Harlow 1960 Sunburst ring: Well, it's pretty.
8 Benefit Go Tropicoral Lip and Cheek Tint: Always wanted to try out the brand and really want to try out the powers of highlighting.
9 Yann Martel's Life of Pi: Really mindblown by the movie, so reading the book is a given.
10 Jewelry hanger: I have so much jewelry, especially necklaces, and I need some cute storage. Found a lovely stand at sixx(jewelry store in germany) which is huge enough to fit all of my crap. Winkwink.
11 3.1. Phillip Lim Burgundy Pashli Satchel: The reason this one is on my wishlist (apart from the fact that it's gorgeous) is that it was off 50% at an online shop. Of course when I checked the website, it was sold out and I doubt that it will come back in stock. But maybe in the summer sales, and when that comes around I will try to make my strike.

So it's that time of the year again, where artificial lights illuminate the streets and our homes and everyone is either freaking out or loving every moment of the crazy frenzy that is Christmas. In the spirit of giving (and receiving) I have put together a more or less ultimate wishlist of the material items my heart is craving for this year. I'll be honest, number 1 and 10 (a Christmas or anytime trip to the city of my heart, New York) is rather utopic this year around but the other items I will surely either ask Santa for or purchase myself.
