2012

2012. And so a year came and flew by like it was nothing but a fickle breeze of fresh air. Where did the months go so quickly and what was I doing all of that time? This year, like no other, left me with some of the greatest memories that I will cherish forever but also taught me some valuable, and often painful lessons on life, values and most importantly people. Good people have entered my life, bad people have crossed it, I've cried, I've laughed, I've danced, I've hated, I've loved, and the most valuable lesson I've learned, is that life is too short to spend it with people that suck the happiness out of you. Taken that into account, one of my New Year's resolution says: Don't be bitter about the things in life you can't change and instead focus on the things in life that make me happy. Because Karma is a bitch and eventually it'll get you. Always.
That being said, I am ready to leave an eventful 2012 behind and embrace the rollercoaster that is 2013 which either way will be legen-wait for it- you know the drill :)

Christmas Outfit

 This is the outfit I wore for Christmas Eve lunch at my dad's and dinner at my boyfriend's house. Really classic and simple chic I'd say. I just love the holidays, all the presents, food and just the awesome movies that are on tv (that is really the best part about any holiday). I will post about the lovely presents I received in a later post, I can only say, I am as happy as can be about them. Today though, the normal routine kicks back in, but just until New Years Eve when the real party starts :)

Sweet Nothing

 Luckily the temperatures have risen a bit during the last few days, so that it was possible for me to wear out my parka again. Pimped it up with a good amount of fake fur and a bit of a statement necklace during my outing in town to purchase the first christmas presents. But I really need the remaining days until Christmas to finish up with everything, ah so tedious. Hope you guys have been more successful in that department :)

So it's that time of the year again, where artificial lights illuminate the streets and our homes and everyone is either freaking out or loving every moment of the crazy frenzy that is Christmas. In the spirit of giving (and receiving) I have put together a more or less ultimate wishlist of the material items my heart is craving for this year. I'll be honest, number 1 and 10 (a Christmas or anytime trip to the city of my heart, New York) is rather utopic this year around but the other items I will surely either ask Santa for or purchase myself.

Sparkles

 I'm in such a festive mood now, the christmas markets have opened up this weekend and even though I didn't went (simply too crowded and freezing) I'm really caught up in the magic of the winter wonderland. And whenever christmas season starts, I develop the tendency of wearing loads of sparkly things, because quite frankly, I am challenging a christmas tree(kidding.) And really I am so obsessed with beanies, I am not even joking, I feel incredibly naked and cold without them. Only three more weeks and then Christmas, yay! Time really flies, ain't it.

Phew, and so another month has come and flown by. Am I the only one who thinks the months just breeze by us like nothing? I feel like summer just ended and now we're already well into winter with it's freezing temperatures. Everything is already in full christmas mode and whenever that happens I really panic, well not panic, but only one month and we step into 2013. As of tomorrow I will fully settle into the christmas spirit, a potential wishlist is coming up :)

Neon Beanie

 A quick outfit post of what I wore yesterday. Wore my new neon beanie and I love it dearly, a neon pop of color among the otherwise grey and dark colors in fall/winter is truly a mood lifter :) We went to watch Cloud Atlas and that movie seriously blew my mind. It was simply amazing. A definite must see!

Every year is the same old dilemma (for me at least). What coat should I get this winter? I'll be honest, it's not like I am lacking in the coat department, but for me coats kind of lose their charm after one winter, sure I still wear those I bought years ago, but yet again I always go on the hunt for a new one once the weather cools down. Currently I am browsing online for a coat that preferably I won't see on anyone else in my town and I put together a few utopian choices of different types of them here. Do you guys have any good recommendation for online shops that carry nice and especially warm coats? Suggestions are very welcome.  Until then I am left drooling over one or the other piece that probably will never make it into my closet.

Curly Sue

My mom hacked off a good amount of my hair a few days back and after the initial shock I started embracing the new "length" by curling my hair, something I haven't done in a long time, since I never really had the patience with the long hair. Please excuse my more than tired expression, we were up really early to help my dad prepare for his housewarming party over the weekend.

I am loving me some sweater action during autumn/ winter season. Nothing is more appropriate than cuddling yourself into thick and warm material. My favorites include patterns(preferably aztec), solid colored knits and prints, the bigger the better.

No more palm trees

 I can't get over the utter beauty of autumn season. Walking around town surrounded by red and yellow leaves is just a party to my eyes. The only negative thing is that the sun sets so early, you really have to rush to get your pictures taken before the lights get too mellow.
